Winter’s chill takes center stage starting 2025

Frosty start Thursday

JACKSONVILLE, FLA – Frost will make an appearance across southeast Georgia and northeast Florida Thursday morning.

Thursday morning will greet early risers with frosty lawns and crisp air, as temperatures dip to the mid-30s in southeast Georgia and range from the mid-30s to lower 40s across northeast Florida. Frosts will target areas from western Duval county but not the beaches. It will be much colder tomorrow morning as northwesterly winds continue to usher in colder air.

.

Thursday expect temperatures in the upper 50s in northern southeast Georgia, climbing gradually to the mid-60s toward northeast Florida.

As the sun sets Thursday night, clear skies and calm winds will set the stage for another frosty performance. Overnight lows will plunge into the low 30s across inland southeast Georgia and the Suwannee Valley, with frost extending its reach to portions of north-central Florida.

Looking ahead to the weekend, colder air will grip the region. Lows will bottom out in the low to mid-30s, and widespread frost and freeze conditions are expected—not just for southeast Georgia and the Suwannee Valley but also creeping toward the beaches. Saturday night will be even colder and more widespread, so keep those plants covered and your pets cozy.

By Sunday, temperatures will begin a gradual rebound, easing the frost and freeze potential as we head into Monday. The next chance for rain arrives with another cold front, which is expected to move through early Monday.
