Weather Authority Impact Day Ends

Super golden sunset ahead!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Weather Authority Impact Day has come to a close as storms exit the region Wednesday afternoon, leaving behind a refreshing change in the atmosphere. The rain is pushing out, and drier air is settling in, setting the stage for a stunning sunset this evening.

Rain will finish up across the St. Johns and Flagler counties early this afternoon and race out into the Atlantic.

Fortunately, the few thunderstorms that rumbled were never severe, however, gusty winds have persisted, topping 30 mph at times. Rainfall amounts were generally light, with 0.28 inches recorded in Orange Park, 0.35 inches in Arlington, and 0.23 inches at JAX Airport.

Rain totals.

As skies clear, temperatures will drop into the 60s this evening before plunging into the 40s by tomorrow morning. With high pressure building in, sunshine will dominate the forecast in the days ahead. But don’t get too comfortable—another round of rain is expected to return over the weekend.

Stay tuned to The Weather Authority for the latest updates!
