The city of Jacksonville has stated in previous years that the Fourth of July fireworks displays will happen rain or shine. This suggests the general plan is to proceed with the fireworks even with some rainfall.
However, in the case of inclement weather, as determined by the Emergency Operations Command, fireworks may be rescheduled or cancelled. The safety of all attendees is the top priority.
The forecast for Saturday is uncertain as a stalled frontal boundary in southeast Georgia continues to keep moisture rising from central Florida stuck in northeast Florida, mixing with the sea breeze from the Gulf causing the stormy afternoon forecast to be more widespread. Rip current risks will be posted along our coastline for dangerous surf conditions throughout the weekend.
