Update: 9:00 p.m. The last of our showers and thunderstorms have reached Glynn and Camden counties in southeast Georgia and Nassau and Duval counties in northeast Florida. These will continue to weaken as the move east toward I-95 an dthe Golden Isles. Lightning and a few downpours will be possible 10 p.m.

The combination of dangerous heat and stifling humidity has led to a Heat Advisory for portions of our viewing circle.

The Heat Advisory has expired. Feels Like temperatures reached 109 - 117 degrees in areas of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia, including JAX, Cecil Field and St. Simons Island.

Heat Advisories are likely Saturday and Sunday. The Heat Advisory will cover inland areas of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia as the beaches will remain below advisory levels. Feels Like temperatures this weekend will range from 105 to 113 degrees. The peak times will be from around 1 p.m. through 6 p.m.

Saturday: Heat Advisory likely. Hot and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible after 1-2 p.m. Rain chances are 30-60 percent with better chances west of I-95. Morning lows will be in the 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the 90s inland with upper 80s to low 90s along our beaches. Feels Like temperatures around 105 - 113 degrees. Wind SW 5-10 mph.

Looking ahead: A Heat Advisory is likely again Sunday with hot and humid conditions continuing Monday.
