Watching low potential cyclonic development in the Gulf

Keeping an eye on the tropics as heavy rainfall is expected along the Gulf coast

NHC Tuesday night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The National Hurricane Center has identified an area of low pressure located just offshore of the Southeastern U.S. coast moving west-southwestward into the north-central portion of the Gulf.

Over the next 2-7 days, there is a small chance for slow development if the system stays far enough offshore.

By this weekend, the system is likely to move onshore, which would end any possible cyclonic development.
