The showers across Putnam and Flagler counties will wind down around 10 - 11 p.m. The showers over Georgia will weaken as they move south, with showers possible near and along I-10 from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m.
A notable change from our normal early June temperatures
A strong low-pressure area over the Atlantic will drive a cold front across our forecast area as a strong area of high pressure builds to our north. Get ready for a shot of spring before we slip back into summer.
Wednesday will feature a pleasant departure from our early June weather. Increasing northeast winds will be the primary weather story, especially along the Atlantic coast, where sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph are expected. Inland locations will also experience breezy conditions.
A steady northeasterly breeze will continue through Friday as the area of high pressure remains to our north. Seasonal temperatures return this weekend, as the low dew points and drier air linger.
Tonight: Isolated showers and storms through around 10 p.m. Strong to severe storms with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds are possible.
Wednesday: Becoming partly cloudy and windy. Lows in the 60s and 70s. Highs in the 70s and 80s. Wind: NE 15-20 mph, gusts to 35 mph. Mostly clear and cooler overnight as the wind slowly subsides.
Thursday - Friday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with less than seasonal temperatures. Average lows this time of year are around 68 degrees with afternoon highs around 88 - 90 degrees. Morning lows in the 50s, 60s and 70s. A little cooler across SE GA. Highs will reach the 70s to mid 80s. Wind: NE 5-15 mph.
