JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Filtered sunshine will push through during the morning hours, sending temperatures climbing into the 90s by early afternoon.
Highs are expected to peak in the mid-to-upper 90s, similar to Friday’s pattern. Afternoon heat and lower humidity will keep heat index values in the 103-to-107-degree range — just below Heat Advisory thresholds.
With the summertime heat, it’s important to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks if working outside, and always double-check the backseat.
Afternoon storms are possible as the sea breeze develops.
A light west-northwesterly steering flow will delay the Atlantic sea breeze again on Saturday, but diurnal instability is expected to build ahead of its development. That instability is anticipated to trigger convection around 2 p.m.
Initial showers and scattered storms will develop after that, with storm movement expected to push inland as activity becomes scattered and disorganized through the afternoon.
